What the service involves
Small box braids at Studio 818 are a shoulder-length braid service built by sectioning hair into small square parts and braiding each section with or without added extension hair. Hair is not included; installation choices like braid size and extension density shape how the finished set sits and frames the face.
Because the service duration is 390 MINUTES and starts at $350, expect a multi-hour appointment that benefits from clear planning. Bring reference photos and communicate desired color and density ahead of time so we can confirm materials and any cost adjustments, especially when choosing thicker extension hair that may increase the total.
Hair, costs, and add-ons
Studio 818’s pricing and hair policy are straightforward: the listed starting price is $350. Hair is not included in that price — contact us before buying hair so we can confirm the correct type, color, and quantity. If you prefer that we purchase hair, you must pay the full hair cost plus a $25 shopping fee before purchase.
Hair payments are nonrefundable after purchase, so we confirm the exact order before buying. Optional upgrades include bra-strap length for +$40, waist length +$80, butt length +$150, and curly/boho styling for +$60. Any additional hair purchase cost is separate from the starting service price; extra-thick hair may cost more.
Booking and appointment logistics
Bookings for this 390 MINUTES service should account for travel and post-appointment time. Our studio is on Sherman Oaks’ Ventura Boulevard commercial corridor, convenient for commuters exiting or using US-101 and Ventura Boulevard. We commonly accommodate quick after-work appointments and weekend or mid-morning times that fit school drop-offs and professional schedules.
Before your appointment, send photos of natural hair and any extension hair so we can verify total cost and whether extra-thick hair will change pricing. Arrive on time, and if you arranged for us to buy hair, ensure payment is completed before the purchase so we can start promptly and avoid delays.
