The work addresses visible roots and styles only the upper section, so the lower half of the head is left as-is unless you book a full-head service.
Appointments are scheduled for 150 minutes. The result is shaped by your loc length, density, existing parting, and the finishing style you choose. The retwist secures new growth at the roots and the finish organizes the visible half-head area so the style sits neatly and lasts as long as local wear and care allow.
How retwist and styling work
Root retwisting focuses on the new growth at the base of each loc within the top half of your head. The process refreshes parting lines and tidies crowns where roots are most visible. The loctician works section by section to restore neatness at the scalp without reworking the entire head.
After the retwist, we apply the finishing technique you selected, such as two-strand twists or barrel styling, to set the look on the retwisted area. You and the loctician decide the tension and tightness; lighter tension prioritizes comfort, while firmer tension can produce a neater, longer-lasting hold, so a trade-off is discussed during service.
Pricing and length policy
Pricing is based on loc length. Locs 5 inches or less start at $145; locs 10 inches or longer start at $155. These are the published starting prices for the Half Head service and cover the wash, root retwist on the top/half-head area, and the chosen finishing style.
If your locs measure between 5 and 10 inches, please send photos for a quote before booking. Providing images up front lets us confirm the right price and reserve the appropriate amount of time for your 150-minute appointment so we can complete washing, retwisting, and styling without adjustments on arrival.
