What interlocking does
Interlocking maintenance tightens new growth by re-looping or securing the base of each loc to the existing locked section. At Studio 818 we include a wash as part of the appointment so you leave with clean, tightened locs. The method focuses on tightening the new growth without redoing the whole loc.
Results depend on loc size, count and how established each loc is. A photo consultation confirms those details before your visit so we pick the correct service tier. Interlocking preserves the existing pattern while addressing loose roots; the visible finish varies with loc diameter and maturity.
Service tiers and pricing
Pricing is tiered by length and scope: Full head — short to shoulder length starts at $215; mid-back and longer starts at $245. Half head starts at $170. All interlocking maintenance appointments include a wash. A photo consultation confirms the correct tier, loc size, count and work required.
Standard appointment time is 150 MINUTES for the listed starting tiers. Extra crochet or interlocking time is available at $75 per additional hour; that hourly add-on is agreed before your visit. If your locs need more time than the tier covers, we confirm charges during the photo consultation.
Local scheduling and logistics
Studio 818 operates in Sherman Oaks along Ventura Boulevard, which suits commuters leaving or entering the US‑101. We see many clients after work or mid-morning on weekends to fit school drop-offs and professional schedules. Appointments are timed for convenience around nearby spots like the Sherman Oaks Galleria and Sepulveda Basin.
Before you book, send a photo so we can confirm the correct tier and estimate time. Expect a wash included with the service and clear upfront pricing. If additional crochet or interlocking time is needed, we’ll confirm the $75/hr rate before you come so there are no surprises.
